State parks storytelling campaign to launch this week!

The Environmental League of Massachusetts would like to know….Will you share your MA park story?

After months of preparation, the Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM), convener of the Green Budget Coalition, is just about ready to launch a state parks campaign! Our new “What’s Your MA Park Story?” campaign will be a chance for park users and activists from across the Commonwealth to tell their state park stories through images, videos, audio files, and short messages.

Our goals for the campaign are as follows:
Engage the public in storytelling that communicates why state parks matter
Raise the profile of our state park system and DCR, the agency responsible for it
Build awareness of funding needs and generate support for adequate funding, with a focus on engaging key communities
Strengthen the network of state park activists

Next week, we will invite organizations to become active participants in the campaign. This will involve:
Submitting content via the online portal we’re setting up.
Encouraging your members to do the same. To make this easy, we will supply template promotional material for your organization’s social media, e-newsletters, e-blasts, and website.
Making a financial contribution. This will support the work by ELM staff, consultants, and a professional videographer.

To capture the remainder of peak parks season, we have a tight timeline to get the campaign off the ground. We hope to have organizations confirm their participation as soon as possible, ideally by September 15, so that we have a core group of organizations to take part in this effort. Stay tuned for an email with more details about the official launch next week.

Excited to launch this campaign with you!
