The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) provides opportunities for people to connect with the environment through diverse natural and cultural resources and recreational activities on over 450,000 acres of public lands.

Beaches, wooded parks, parkways, and reservoirs - All of these places make up the Massachusetts State Parks. You can find a place to go in all regions of the Commonwealth from Pittsfield to Boston and Gloucester to Provincetown. Each one offers activities and amenities.

We are fortunate to rely on our Friends to help us protect and maintain the Commonwealth's public lands.
